Location

Potrero and Flamingo Costa Rica are located on the Northern Pacific coast of the Nicoya peninsula and is home to some of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches and landscapes. The climate here is ideal for any and all activities. The Green Season lasts from May to November and has afternoon showers that create unbelievable sunsets and tropical green forests. The High Season lasts from December to April with endless sunny days and soft breezes. The beaches in Guanacaste are spectacular. Within a few minutes drive of Flamingo, you can reach dozens of white, black or brown sand beaches. And don't forget about the world-class surfing at many of the local beaches. If the beach is not your favorite, head inland for some of the many activities. Try hiking, biking, golfing, or bird watching. Or for the more adventurous person, take a canopy tour or an ATV tour through the forest and beaches. Whatever your preference, the Flamingo Beach area in Guanacaste has something to offer.

Tours and Recreation

It seems Costa Rica was designed for the sportsman and adventurer. The waters off the coast of Flamingo and Potrero are teeming with life. The sportfishing here in Flamingo ranks among the finest in Central America. On your half or full day tour expect to catch sailfish, dorado, tuna, and even marlin. Or take a snorkeling and sunset cruise and see tropical reef fish, dolphins, turtles and whales. For the scuba divers, diving off the Catalina Islands is unbeatable. For activities on land, try a canopy tour and soar above the trees, or an ATV tour through the jungle. Or just a short drive away, there is Rincón de la Vieja volcano. This national park is reminiscent of Yellowstone with its bubbling mud pots and steaming craters. For the golfer, there are several courses in the area. There is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course at Playa Conchal which is only minutes away from Flamingo. The others are close by in Hacienda Pinilla and Papagayo. The options are endless here in the Flamingo Potrero area.

Language schools
